Privacy Policy under GDPR regulation - (KCA Parents)

As a Spanish organisation King’s College, The British School of Alicante (King’s College Alicante) follows the GDPR regulation system. This privacy policy describes how our company collects, uses and discloses your personal information and data when you use our services through our websites and/or application. 

In accordance with the terms of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data (GDPR), Ley Orgánica 3/2018, de 5 de diciembre, de Protección de Datos Personales y Garantía de los Derechos Digitales, (LOPD-GDD) and Ley 34/2002, de 11 de julio de Servicios de la Sociedad de Información y Comercio Electrónico,  British School of Alicante S.L. provides information about how we are processing the personal data that you provide to us.

Any issue arising from this Privacy Policy regarding, but not limited to, their validity, interpretation, execution, consequences and so on will be pleaded in front of the relevant jurisdiction. The provider of the service, GoodBarber, is the data processor, that can also acts alternatively as a data processor or a data controller when it processes data directly or indirectly based on the order of its users.

What kind of data is collected?

Our School collects and shares with the processor the following set of data and information:

  • Personal identification information (name, email address and phone number)

  • ​Images, videos

  • Device information

  • Location
     

How is the data collected?

You provide our School with most of the data we collect, we collect data and process personal data and information when:

  • You register online.

  • Use our application when cookies are set on your device.
     

How will we use your data?

Our School collects your data so that we can:

  • Manage your account

  • Send you email with relevant information applicable to the user

  • Device data for notification purposes

  • Location for providing directions to school events
     

Camera purpose

The app requires access to your camera to capture photos and videos. The primary purpose of this media is to highlight and promote student success outside of school within our school community, such as achievements in sports, art, and other activities. Additionally, the camera can be used to scan QR codes throughout the school for easier navigation. All photos and videos will be reviewed by the school before being published on the app. We do not share your images or videos with third parties unless it is essential for the core functionality of the app or explicitly stated.
 

How is the data stored?

The data is stored by Goodbarber, our App provider, addressed at: CampusPlex, 12 Rue Général Fiorella, 20000 Ajaccio, France, Europe. 

Goodbarber will process and store your data in EU, France. securely stores your data in France (Europe). You can find information about their privacy policy at: https://es.goodbarber.com/privacy/

Our school will keep your personal data for the time you are a parent or teacher at the school. Once this time period has expired, we store the data as historic.

  • Country (deducted from geolocalisation)

Our School would like to send you notifications on relevant information applicable to you.

If you no longer wish to be contacted, please email us at parent.app.kca@kings.education, or you can unsubscribe from notifications you are not interested in using the app.

Data protection rights

Our company would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every user has, if applicable, the right to:

  • The right to withdraw your consent for the processing of your data: In this case, you won’t be able to access and use the app. 

  • The right to access: you have the right to request our company for copies of your personal data.

  • The right to rectification: you have the right to request that our company corrects any information you believe is inaccurate or mistaken. You also have the right to request our company to complete information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to erasure: you have the right to request that our company erase your personal data under certain conditions.

  • The right to restrict processing: you have the right to request that our company restricts the processing of your personal data under certain conditions.

  • The right to object to processing: you have the right to object to our company’s processing of personal data under certain conditions.

  • The right to data portability: you have the right to request that our company transfers the data we have collected to another organisation or directly to you under certain conditions.
